Fibromyalgia
I was diagnosed in 2015. And this is what I am learning
◦ Fibromyalgia is a complicated condition that can affect us in different ways. We are not all the same.
◦ There is no cure for Fibromyalgia. There is no quick fix.
◦ If your doctor or provider is unfamiliar with fibromyalgia move on.
◦ Never allow yourself to be mistreated by medical professionals
◦ Give yourself a break- literally. There is no shame in taking time off to rest, restore, and relax
◦ Research. Food, cosmetics, soaps, household items, medications etc all contain chemicals that may cause or add to inflammation.
◦ Prepare to hear “You don’t look sick”.
◦ Well meaning family and friends give advice or have THE cure.
◦ Fibromyalgia often accompanies other diseases or conditions including migraines, neuropathy, depression, rashes, and many more.
◦ Most importantly we are not alone. There are millions of people suffering with fibromyalgia. That includes 2% of the world’s population.
Sharing with others who are living with chronic illnesses is extremely beneficial. Lean on others who understand and let them help carry the load. My name is Laree and thank you for reading my first post.
