Today we thought we would talk a little about what could be affecting your inflammation markers to rise and cause chronic inflammation.


What causes chronic inflammation?


If food can heal…..try including more of these:
Leafy greens – romaine, red leaf and green leaf lettuce, greens, spinach.
Olive oil- specifically extra virgin olive oil; or cold-pressed.
Berries- blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, boysenberries, cranberries.
Cruciferous vegetables- broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, cabbage, collard greens, kale, mustard greens, watercress, radish.
Fatty fish- salmon, anchovies , butter fish, sea bass, mackerel and sardines.
Green tea- green, white, black tea.
Cultured and fermented- yogurt, kimchi, sauerkraut.
Nuts and seeds-almonds, Brazil nuts, cashews, chia seeds, flax seeds, hazelnuts , macadamia nuts, pecans, pine nuts , pistachios , sunflower seeds , walnuts


Eat less of …….. or avoid


Added or refined sugars
Fried food
Trans and saturated fats
Excessive omega-6 intake
Processed meats and foods
Artificial sweeteners
High fat meats
Excessive alcohol or caffeine
Excessive carbohydrates
Artificial colours and flavours
Chemicals
Preservatives
Pesticides.
